A MAN WHO was arrested in connection with the killing of Dean Fitzpatrick in Dublin on Saturday night has been released without charge.

Gardaí said the man in his early 40s who had been arrested on Sunday was released this afternoon.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions and investigations are continuing into the killing.

Dean Fitzpatrick, 23, was found with stab wounds at Northern Cross, Malahide Road in Dublin at around 11.20pm on Saturday night. He was  brought to Beaumont Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Dean Fitzpatrick was the brother of 15-year-old Amy Fitzpatrick who went missing in Spain five years ago. She was last seen leaving a friend’s house in Fuengirola at around 9pm on New Year’s Day 2008.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses who may have seen anything on Saturday night to come forward.
